Currently on the WOW 10 day refer a friend trial... Will they automatically move me to the monthly 14.99 recurring fee that I choose when I signed up once the 10 days are up? or Will I have to buy a copy of the game first?

me = confused :confused:

I'm at work with no way of getting to the WOW site to check if this is mentioned in their FAQ - and pondering if I should just buy the CDs on the way home.

pasted from link:

The Collector's Edition of World of Warcraft came with a special 10-day Guest Pass included. If you used this 10-day pass and key to start playing World of Warcraft, you have a guest pass trial account.

When those 10 days are up, the guest pass trial account will no longer be playable, but all the account, character, and item information are saved.

If you would like to continue playing World of Warcraft past that point, you will need to get your own retail copy of the game or of the Collector's Edition. Then, you will need to log into your Account Management page. Put in your new retail key, confirm your payment information, and you're good to go.

Important things to know about the transition from guest pass account to retail account:

* Your account name and password will remain the same. You are not making a new account.
* Your characters and items will remain on that account, even if the trial expires. They will be available any time you decide to turn your account into a retail account.
* You cannot use another guest pass key to extend your trial account by another 10 days.
* When you put in your retail key for the first time, you will get another free 30 days trial, which are included with all retail versions of the game.

If you have any further questions about transitioning your guest pass trial account to retail, please contact our Billing and Account Services team:

* by Email: billing@blizzard.com
* by Phone: 800-59-BLIZZARD (800-592-5499)

Billing representatives are available to take phone calls between 9:00am and 6:00pm Pacific Time. Australian users should please call 800-041-378, as the standard 800 line may not work for them.

Thanks for the link....

Interesting, the proxy software here let me get to the page - before it imploded on itself and blocked the entire page.

Do they purge accounts? I am thinking of holding off on buying the game since I may not give my exams the attention they deserve :eek: . I probably wouldn't be buying the game until at least sometime in April.

I can't see anything on the Blizzard site now, the proxy here just got wise to my actions.

they retain all character info unless you specifically put in a request to delete your account.
