WoW Question. pls help. This is not software related

So I am in a possible sale from one guy for his copy of World of Warcraft. He already has an account but he is giving it up and the account already is frozen.

The question is that I want to transfer the account to myself so that the guy cannot access it or retrieve the password. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?

I just want to try the WoW thing out. I played beta last year and enjoyed it but have not had the time/inclination to actually pay a monthly charge.

Did you dig around on their site? If they allow it they should have something there. If they do not allow it there is probably no absolutely foolproof method. I would at least be sure to get the original CD case and CD with the sign up code printed on it.

You have a 6800 paired with a Athlon xp 1700?

Anyway I believe you just can enter in in his old log info and change the password. Update your billing information as well and you should be ok.

or just find a guest pass and create your own account, only lasts 10 days I think, but at least you can try it out.

They don't actually allow this. Doesn't stop most people though. Make sure you get the original cd and are able to get in and change the account password before anything though.

reactivating account

changing password and account info note that you can't change first name/last name or account name or secret question and answer.

however, ebgames.com has wow for $29.99 and you get a free month. presumably, if you buy it used from the seller, you will have to pay for the game AND pay for at least one month which would be at least $15 + price of used game.

Did not know about that deal. Buying it new comes to the same price. Looks like I will get it new. Thanks.

your beta copy (if you still have it) should be upgradable to the current version. the 10 day passes are great if you aren't sure if you want to keep playing.

Every Copy of Warcraft Comes with a code for you, and a code for a friend... no beta copy..
