So I see that I can choose between weapon smithing and armor smithing at 200 blacksmithing. Which is better? I don't plan on doing much after I hit level 60 (what's the point?).

I have a warrior that went weaponsmithing and it became grinding in Silthus for materials/gold to buy materials from AH... Reptitious, but rewarding. I have a freind that went armor, but he never could stomach griding, so it never went very far...

If you go armor smith, you'll be valuable to your guild for FR gear.

Weapon smith, about the only thing you could make is hand of rag and how often does a guild need that?

if you don't plan on doing much after 60, i would suggest dropping blacksmithing and picking up another gathering skill.

Check out some of the Burning Crusade recipes for the weapon specializations. There are some pretty damn nice crafted items coming. Also, have you earned master blacksmith yet? So much god damn iron. I farmed the cave near Tarren Mill forever.

At this point, there's really not much that you can make that's great. The guy who commented on making certain FR gear also forgot to mention the great fun you'll have getting the reputation with Thorium Brotherhood just to make these! Getting up to Honored isn't too bad, but hitting revered is just expensive and arduous! Plus, it requires trips to BRD to hand in the materials to Lokhtos Darkbargainer in the Grim Guzzler.

What made me mad is when Blizzard raised the amount of reputation you got for Dark Iron after I handed in a bunch. Would've doubled how far I was into Honored :(.
