Well I don't know how the horde are doing on other servers but last night we got whooped on Gorg. Alliance had about 140 to 170 people attacking TM and we couldn't hold them off. It was fun, got about 268 honor points in about 3.5 hours.

On Sargeras we went back and forth until about 11:15 or so last night when alliance completely took over TM. We were just chilling in the city owning everything in sight. Then around 11:50 or so everyone went to the arena in STV, which was just completely insane... I have shots, but im at work... ill post them when i get home...

This was a post on another forums about ranks

1a. Honor is divided equally among raid/party members. This means in a 40 person raid you would have to kill 40 people to gain as much honor as you would get from 1 solo kill.

1b. Points are split evenly among raid memebers based on their lvl just like XP. The amount of damage you do only matters with people who are not in the raid attacking the raid target.

2. Honor works like experience. The lower lvl they are compared to you the less honor you get. This means a lvl 60 farming lvl 48s who are green is rather like a lvl 59 trying to lvl by killing lvl 47s. In other words a waste of your time.

3. Honorable kills mean nothing they just represent how many people you have aided in killing and have no affect on you rank. In other words a person with 10000 kills that were the result of just hiting someone once will be lower rank than the person with only 100 kills who soloed them all.

4a. Contribution points are calculated at the end of each day and these are what affect your rank.

4b. Your rank is calculated on a weekly basis using the combined contribution points gained that week.

5. You don't gain rank by killing a certain number of people. Your rank depends on your overall place in the server as calculated with your contribution points.

6. Killing the same person repeatedly gives diminishing returns. The diminishing returns are on a 24hr timer.

7. when you accrue a Dishonorable Kill, it will not have a negative impact on your current honor ranking

So much for questing or being able to use the batmaster in TM.... Honor System = Dumbest idea ever and a seriously weak ass attempt to make up for the fact they still have no battlegrounds. So instead of spending resources to release BG they have ruined solo questing for anyone under lvl 60... way to go Blizztards. See u in Guildwars... :disgust:

Edit... Oh, and don't even get me started on the craptastic latency issues in the contested areas now...

WTF are you talking about? How is solo questing ruined?

I had more peace questing then I have ever had before. All the 50-60s were raiding while I got to knock out a few quests in Un?goro and Tanaris

Lag wasn?t that bad away from the main raids but you can tell it was there. But while I was at TM helping it was a joke, 2-3 seconds for each screen refresh. Only problem I have right now is the casters run in a crowd and chain cast their aoe spells. With all the lag they can do their damage and get away with out a scratch.

It's ruined for lower-level people because on a PvP server the second you go in a contested zone you are flagged for PvP. When the PvP raiders come rolling through, they lay waste to everyone around...

Anyone in Hillsbrad trying to do quests there knows how bad it is.

On a side note, during the first hour or so I was solo farming some level 59/60 elite mobs. No problems for the most part because I was off in the middle of nowhere, but I did get a few lag spikes that almost killed me...

I guess the horde is horribly outnumbered, because in Hillsbrad on my server the pvp is more of a rout than a battle.

so this is a race vs race type pvp like DAoC, RFonline?

kind of makes things a bit unfair if a lot of people decide to choose one race since it's more powerful no? ehh someone fill me in on the exact details of WoW PvP.

PvP is faction vs faction. About the only reason I can think of for the overpopulation on the alliance side is everyone wants to watch the night elf females doing their stripper dance. I don't get it myself, the female trolls are sexier. :)

TM was wiped on Malygos also, about 50-60 alliance vs about 20-25 horde.

No, there isn't anything to balance horde vs. alliance. Alliance outnumbers horde on almost every server. People dont play alliance because because they are more powerful. The shaman class, which is widely regarded as the best solo pvp class, is horde only.

I had the misfortunate of being in the Southshore / Tarren Mill area last night. it was awful.

I gotta find a new place to hunt. heh. Duskwood is too low, STV is too high, and the lag in Southshore got me killed half a dozen times last night.

Try the other side of the world.... Ashenvale, Stonetalon Mountains and Desolace.

On my server, the alliance only seem to pvp at TM and did it everynight anyway. Which is funny since when the horde raided Duskwood (darkshire), rebel camp, Lights hope, Stormwind, Ironforge we were ghey for pvping, but they are l33t for taking out tm...

pvp honor rocks, i can't wait to get home from work and tear it up.

yeah, I'm thinking about it. I hate the stupid otherside of the world, though ;)

I left Tradrassil (sp) at level 1 for a reason :D

After you get out of Ashenvale, it's not bad if you don't like the forest. I really like Stonetalon and Desolace, completely different style. I don't know about the alliance side quests in stonetalon, but the horde-side quests in stonetalon are fairly straightforward and compact. There are also areas where you can get several done at once, provided you have enough bag space to carry the junk back. It's a little spread out, but overall a pretty efficient place to quest (for horde anyway).

Teldrassil is horrbile, I hated that place. Those magic lamps or whatever they are that hum as you walk by them annoy me to no end.

Besides, if you are NE, you have to get up to honored with the elves sometime so you can get a 10g discount on your mount purchase. When I played my NE, I went through the early quests until I got honored, then trekked it out to Westfall.

yeah. I have a couple duskwood quests to take care of, and I'd like to get into a group to clear out my Stockades quests, but after that, I'm probably going to head out to Ashenvale / Stonetalon to start taking care of quests to get my faction up. I'm just not happy about it :p

What did you expect on a PVP server the first day that honor points were released?
Why would you roll on a PVP server if you couldn't deal with the obvious ganking that would occur in contested zones?

Once people realize that such "zerging" in TM will only be lowering their overall ranking, it won't really be an issue anymore.

Do cry more, and enjoy guild wars.

the latency got better as the raid got longer.

I am L46 Hunter, I got over 1200 HKs but the contribution pts didn't calc yet. I can do 500-600 dmg on L60s w/ my M.S. and lots of clips and chips w/ my AOE volley. I can kill those L50 mages/priest relatively easy. Hopefully i get more contributed pts.

i saw a few L20s in the raid, just leeching HKs, which kinda pisses me off.

Desolace is pretty cool for a low- to mid-30s character to lvl up.

I'm not sure it works like that. I had 9 HKs by myself (45 Hunter, PvE server), then joined up with a raid group as we took TM and moved on up to Undercity. After 45 minutes or so, I had 11 HKs.

In a raid, I think HK are distributed just like XP - you can't "power-level" with uber-players to up you kill rate.
