I had picked up a nice pair of Monsoon speakers for my new computer, and then last week, Circuit City finally decided to pick up the Klipsch ProMedia line. Naturally I returned the Monsoon's and picked these up. The Monsoon's were great speakers, don't get me wrong...but I just hooked this things up, and its like night and day man...the difference is astounding. I believed everyone when they said they were the best, but I didn't know just how good these things are. Wow.

My old roommate had 4.1s... I was never really impressed by them. They were loud. I'll give 'em that.

At least when my neighbors were stomping around upstairs at 3am, we could turn them on and shake them into submission.

Yup, these suckers rock! Have the older v2-400s out in the living room and just got the Promedia 2.1s last week. The sound's awefully sharp, and love the way it vibrates the floor when I pump it up in my room :)

I think both z560 and the Promedia 4.1s have their own place. I've heard the z560, but personally I'd prefer the Klipsch. Whether it's a waste of money or not is really to be judged by the buyer himself/herself. Value is in the eye of the beholder.

heh, i went from the z560's to the 2.1's and noticed an audible difference in clarity... it was just so much cleaner with the promedias albeit not as loud.

I have had a set of v2-400's since they came out (original runs with the hissing pre amp), and I had picked up a pair of Z560's from dell when they were 100$. One of the Z560's died, the other my brother is using. The ones that died were sold to a friend as new when I got them, but it's about 1/2 the cost of the speakers just to ship it back to logitech =(

I still use my v2-400s, I don't think I would use the logitech ones. Maybe I'm just used to the way the v2-400s sound.
