BTW ignorance doesn't ALWAYS equate to stupid.

Ignorance is being unaware of something, like the answer to a question because you never knew it. ;)

Stupid is arrogant ignorance, i.e. being proudly convinced you're right when you're really wrong. That's why the military calls stupid as being "extremely positive."
