gilbert arenas is a serious ballhog, plus I hate anyone from U of Arizona in general (bibby, jefferson).
My friend asked me to go to the game yesterday, but I had homework to do.
Screw me, should have gone to see the last game of payton and mason.
 
I'd have to agree... With Gilbert Arenas(a good up and coming PG) we would have a starting lineup to be reckoned with.

PG- Arenas
SG- Mason
SF- Lewis
PF- Campbell
C- James

With some good backups (barry, booth, radman, drobjnak, forte)

I think the sonics might made the move to free up lots of salary cap so that we can get something big on the next trade.

I think sonics is a joke with the big guys: jerome james, evans, pryzbilla, calvin booth (did I mention the joker booth). I dunno who they're going to play at point guard. Barry ?

This sux. Well, I think sonics might as well continue to sux. Lose all the games if possible to get a high trade pick for next season.

Ray Allen is talented, but without a solid point guard to feed the ball, I want to see if he can maintain his scoring spree.

What is all this talk about gilbert arenas ? Is anything official or is this only somekind of fantasy NBA ?

I think the sonics had too much starbucks that made everyone a doo-doo

I haven't heard anything serious about Arenas being traded.

I do hope that Desmond Mason's scoring and rebounding go up (on my fantasy team 😀). Hopefully the start him.

Ray Allen is not a "pond scum loser", IMO. He's got talent, not as much as Payton, but he's still a young player and he'll grow into his position.

ok should have been a little more clear with the original post. was trying to convey the fact that we give up our three best players, and got 4 in return. 3 of them suck ass. allen is good, but will have no support here.

Been a long time sonics fan but they've been sucking lately, Payton is the heart and soul of the team, I see them breaking down
quickly.

Seattle needs a big center and rebounder. They really did not have one since Alton Lister. Michael Cage helped a bit with his stellar rebounding skills but that pretty was much it. Shawn Kemp tried playing it for abit but wasn't as effective. Oh well. Some past Sonic favourites that were traded (in no particular order):
- Shawn Kemp
- Kendall Gill
- Dana Barros
- Derrick Mckey
- Dale Ellis
- X Man
-Gary Payton

 
It seems that Sonics are thinking of throwing this season so they'll get a better chance at the first pick in the draft! (Hmmmmm...Lebron James?) 😉 😀
 
After the trade, I realize there's a bunch of clues.
- Tomorrow Bucks at Seattle (I thought we would deal payton to knicks yesterday)
- George Karl wants Payton back
- Ray Allen has an attitude problem lately


You know what, now I think about it, maybe Nate Mcmillan wants a comeback.

dang wat is this...huge trade.....and i never imagined payton being on the eastern team all star game.....(for next year)...

well, payton goes back to his old coach....but...never imagined him on no other team otherthan the sonics..

 
The Bucks got the better end of this trade, though not by much. Payton is in his last couple of years in the league, so that's a temporary gain. Mason averages a very respectible 14 and 6 and is only 25. But Ray Allen is a great player and the Supersonics got a star to replace the aging Peyton and to go with Rashard Lewis. I can see the trade working for both teams.
 
the sonics GM said none of the players in the deal will play in the friday night game.

my fantasy team takes a hit, i have payton and kukoc. i actually traded desmond mason for kukoc a couple weeks back.

I just heard about that, too. Something about 48 hours before they can play. That sucks because I was going to try to make that game.
 
And in an interesting twist, according to league sources, the Knicks have filed for a deadline extension, with the intention of further exploring a deal for Latrell Sprewell -- to Milwaukee, for a package that includes Sam Cassell and Mason.
