Wow, parents can really suck

Well, it's time for my first thread, and what kind of newbie would I be if I didn't post a sh*tty thread to start. So...

I just got off some 7 hour shift in a kitchen, tired and still slightly hungover from last night (yeah, it was that crazy.) and this really cute girl I work with randomly asks me out of the blue if I wanted to go to her house and have a swim. Sh*t, I was all for it but figured I'd just take my time with my answer, not being all eager and looking like a loser. So, after getting all worked up and ready to go have a swim with her, she figures she'd call her parents first and see if it would be alright to have someone over for a swim. This is like, 12:00, and they really, really freaked out on her. I don't know what really happened, I could only hear some of what her dad said on the phone, and I tried not to pry.

So, after all that, no go.

Damn =/ Guess I have a shot now at least, maybe some other time.

Well, here we are. I just wasted about...a minute of your lives. Feel free to hate me for a couple weeks, or longer.

You're 17? Man, don't even worry about it, if things don't work out with her you've still got a year or two of HS and then college to go.

I can't blame her dad, honestly. It was late and I assume she mentioned the fact that it wasa boy? Just do something else with her.

was it you in particular that they objected to? or would they have reacted like that to anyone she wanted to bring over?

Not quite worried, very dissapointed, however. ;)

I'm the shy guy that has a bad habbit of acting tough. I know, a strange mix, but I never had the balls to ask her out or anything. This can sort of work as an ice breaker. ^_^

They don't know me at all. So, I assume they have nothing against me, which is good.

Just think of it this way: you can just ask her out to somewhere and get it over with (and probably have a good time) or just come back to ATOT every night thinking what if.

Honestly, being 17 and almost done with HS is something you should take advantage of. Once it comes time for college none of these girls will remember you unless you're in a serious relationship with them, so what've you got to lose?

Just grow balls and ask her if she wants to get some dinner some night after you two get off work.

EDIT: And for f*ck's sake son, go somewhere decent and pay for the whole meal no matter what.
