WoW Owners, I need help about accounts before I buy

I found someone selling a used copy of the game who told me they would cancel their account so I could make a new one on that CD key. I was wondering if this is possible or does blizzard make it so that ONLY that person can ever use that cd key. I really want the game but don't want to pay the full $50 for it and was curious if anyone knew if this was possible or not.
 
dude it's worth $50 to avoid the headaches with buying a used mmo.

Another edit, sigh. Yes it is possible. They can cancel their account, you will just need all their userid/pwd (in this case just the 1 set as Blizzard takes the same for acct mgt as with the game logon)
 
I'd just buy the game. It is COMPLETELY worth it. IMO blows HL2 and everything else out of the water. Don't take on the risk of having account isssues.
 
Don't be cheap, just buy a new copy. Blizzard could shut down your account if they find out you got it used.
