Could be..but 70% is too much of a large figure. The majority of people that play MMOs usually keep it underground until they find someone that actually plays the game.

When I leveled my rogue a while back, I leveled alone 1-80, but eventually joined a guild and raided 2x a week, I quit now because I would like a better gpa...

I believe its true. Unless someone goes out of their way to meet someone they will never meet anyone in that game. If I was dropped into a virtual world and didn't know what to do I would be scared to speak with others. Even after you reach max cap you will never find a guild until you put the effort forth to join one.

I'm not able to access the link, but I stopped playing 2 years ago. I spent 80% of my time alone. I had a blast in the BGs mostly solo or in local PUGs. I was a member of social guilds for a while, then created my own, which only had friends and family. (NTAC on Durotan) I never raided and RARELY even went into the dungeons.

I was decked in "trash" purples, but had a great time. There so much do to in the game, that you can play it in so many different ways and not get bored.

I could see casual people playing almost entirely solo. It's perfectly viable. In fact, playing WoW solo might be more fun than the best single player games... It's certainly debateable.
