YAY got all my parts for the new rig today from newegg, prompt and excellent service as always, with a few discrepencies. Its the wrong case, same model and brand, wrong color, and it came with a PSU, which it wasn't supposed to have. Furthermore, its not on the invoice. thats not such a big deal but....they sent me TWO WD 80Gb SATA drives, instead of the ONE i ordered. the invoice only says one as well. they are identical from what i can tell, cept one has a silver top plate and the other is black. all the numbers match up. should i call them or keep quiet? raid0 sounds awfully appetizing...

Leave the extra stuff unopened for a month or two to see if they discover it and if they do you can send it back. If they don't, you got some free stuff :) Conscience? What's that!?

You should call them. I bet they tell you to just keep it. It's a $40 drive, after all.

Call them, it's not like they are going to make you pay for their error. If they say they want you to ship them back, tell them you will when they send you the box to put it in and a FedEx driver at your front door to pick it up.

They are going to track you down until justice is served for that hard drive. :p

I would call them and let them know, they will probably let you keep it.

A few years ago my old roommate ordered a GF3 ti200 from Newegg, but received a ti500 by mistake (which normally cost an extra $200 or so). He felt guilty and decided to call them. All the CSR told him was that as long as he was happy with what he received, then there was no problem on her end.

Hooray for faceless corporations! :)

That says a lot about why newegg has such a good reputation...

Bet you they'll say just keep it, not worth the effort of issuing a call tag, receiving it, putting it back into stock, etc., etc.

I agree. It NEVER pays to be dishonest, i'm sorry but i feel quite strongly about this. If after telling them of the error they say keep it, well that's a different thing altogether. In that case - cool.

However, you do the wrong thing now and the universe will send some bad karma your way sometime in the future to restore balance and order.

And no - i'm not a religious nut. I believe God is an alien race and in telling the truth :)

Wow - that Chinatsu bird is fit. Who is she? A model? I bet she'd call Newegg to tell them of their mistake :)
