What does the "90,000 ton" part mean?

I think it has something to do with mass

Can that be possible? Isn't that like the weight of an small cruise ship?

Or yo momma

Yeah thanks...

Looks like the QE2 weighs about 77,521 tons? (70,327 tonnes)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMS_Queen_Elizabeth_2

So this thing can put more crushing weight on a car than placing the QE2 on it? 😛

EDIT: oh, and I'm a ship weight noob, I don't know if I should use tonnage or displacement

I'm thinking maybe it's 90,000 pounds, not 90,000 tons?

lol who knows.... 180,000 pounds would be absolutely insane.

90k tons sounds about right. You can get a cheap press in your garage for $150 that can put out 12 tons of pressure.

and that's only used for pressing bearings out and such. not crushing cars.

Cool. I'm not big on car crushers but I thought 90,000 tons seemed pretty extreme.

I'm interested now. I've been trying to find specs on another crusher just to get an estimate of this is a good ballpark figure. I didn't find any on ebay that listed a crushing force and haven't turned anything up on google yet.
