And it's $7.99, they didn't do the standard practice of ripping Canadians off. So damn excited.

Too bad no Xbox streaming yet... later this fall they say.

Selection is really sparse so far, its like Netflix Lite.
I'll still get it when XBox supports it though, I've almost given 8 bucks to bums before, nevermind a month of movies.

I downloaded the ipad app but I haven't signed up for the trial yet. Be curious to know how much bandwidth it uses first.

Just signed up. Have to say I'm impressed so far and the selection should only get bigger. Pretty sure I'm gonna get this for my mom as I don't think she knows this is even possible and she would love it.

2GB/hr for HD and 1GB/hr for SD I read somewhere.

The selection is fucking awful though... not sure if I'll see out my trial.

I agree it isn't great right now but it is only the first day. I'm gonna see how it goes because it might expand pretty quickly. Assuming it does then I will start paying for it. If not I get a free month of mediocre movies.

I've already cancelled. Total waste of time. It's like going to the video store that has 50 titles from 1976 on the shelves and two new releases they are so proud of.

Pathetic. If I knew it was going to be this shitty, there was no point in them launching here.

Someone was saying the Canadian version has 44 TV Show Titles; the US has 2100. Yeah.

The 44 TV show titles....is that the complete library of Canadian television programming?

The US version has more titles because the US makes more television shows...

Awesome. The xbox integration is awesome, much better than that on the PS3 and Wii from what I've experienced.

so i guess the digital medium isn't subject to the same "Canadian content" rules as television.... it'll be eons before the CRTC regulates that too, but I'm sure they will try :p

They'll try to keep Ma Bell happy. Besides, there's probably ten times more Canadian content online than there is on TV today, and it's only growing. I've put stuff on Youtube. Where's my government grant?

I loaded it up on my PS3. Noticed HD video streaming looks worse than high def Youtube videos. There seems to be no way to switch between HD and SD either. Watching unlimited movies on my ipad or laptop is cool though. Netflix so far is definitely not worth cutting out cable though.

Looking at the library, think I'll wait a while before I hook up via PS3. Searched for about 10 different things, all were not offered. 'nuff said.

Selection is super weak, plus apparently playback is kind of shit. My friend is doing the trial on her laptop and she said it's working fine for that, but others have been trying it on the their TVs and it's been choppy and poor quality.

Probably startup pains. I'm sure it'll get better, both in content and in performance.

Probably. I'm not going to waste my trial yet, I'll hold off for a bit since I have seen, or have no desire to see, most everything they have on offer so far.

That kind of sucks, but I wouldn't think to much of it. The streaming here is amazing and they really do have a pretty good selection. There's always something on Netflix I want to see, even if I've already seen it.

I switched from Cogeco to Bell TV about a year ago. I pay the same but get more channels, including time shifting, which was a big thing for me.
