Wow, my race with Ken to 500 is gonna be close!

I just did a little math. :Q 🙂 For the last 2 weeks, Ken has been averaging 2.9 WU/day, and I have been averaging 2.7 WU day. It will take Ken 80 days to get to 500, and 81 days for me. Assuming I counted right, he will pass 500 on Jan. 1, and I will pass it on Jan. 2. 🙂

It's not going to be close when I'm stuck using V3.0 CLi. Then I'll get 2.7 WU/day, and won't be able to move up on you at all. Unless I get some help, of course. 🙂

Not to mention Thanksgiving and Christmas, when my computer will have to be off. 🙁

Since you're right in my range of production, I'll pass along a hint I just figured out recently. Hopefully it's not so obvious that I was dumb in not getting it sooner! I used to leave my mail open/running all the time, even at night. It seems that closing the email down at night or even for part of the day makes a pretty good difference in the WU production, up to 5 from approx 3. I think that has to be the reason? Anyway, good luck!

Ken, what clients are you running currently? Also, are you planning on bringing the Cyrix into the race? 🙂

Currently I'm on 2.00 CLi; it's nice and steady. And yes, I close my e-mail (or if I don't, it's auto-killed at 3:00am 🙂)

No, the Cyrix was going to take 4 days to do a WU on V3.0, so I'm not going to add it. However, if my friend Scott doesn't up his speed soon, I may try to get a few WUs out of his Athlon in return for optimizing it. 🙂

Edit: Or maybe we'll form a miniteam. 😀

Don't you mean 2.4 CLI? I didn't even know there was a 2.00 CLI.

NO!!! 🙂

There used to be a 2.00 CLi available for download. It wrote to the hard disk once every couple seconds, so S@H upgraded to 2.04. But it always displayed its progress, and it was faster than 2.04, so I kept 2.00 (running off a ramdisk so it doesn't write so often.)

If I form a miniteam, I could probably get more people into it. I also think I can figure out how to do individual stats off my SetiQ, since everyone on this miniteam would have a static IP. 🙂

After 2.00 CLi came ,2.4 CLi ,like you said the latter one accesses the HDD less ,I found it to be a little faster too 🙂 ,I've never tried it with Ram disk though
