Wow, my MSI motherboard came with rounded cables

Rounded cables are a bit more useful than colored slots

Well, they're equally as useful as flat cables, I'll give you that. Colored slots are also equally as useful as white ones. I don't see the advantage for the cables.

Rounded cables are easier to route in a cramped case and offer fewer airflow restrictions. In terms of data transfer, though, they're probably equivalent (lacking proper shielding, possibly inferior).

Thank you.
I'm not into the whole airflow thing, but I am trying to make it easier to position the cables inside the case.

Hell no, rounded cables are much easier to work with than the flat ribbons, especially if you're cramp on space.

And the airflow is better in the case. But yeah, "no use". Damn notfred's majorly pissed.

I don't buy motherboards that ship with out of spec colored PCI slots (PCI 2.2 specification says "WHITE". If they're anything else, it's out of spec)

Unfortunately, this limits me to exactly two brands nowadays, since riceboys make up 99% of the enthusiast community.

On a side note, I installed my first ATX12v board this morning.

Just ordered a new MSI board not too long ago for my brother and it came with rounded cables. Well not exactly round but like they had been slit every 10th wire, then stacked and had a mesh sheath put around them. Still pretty cool. Makes for less mess when I put the system back together for him.

What the hell does it matter?

Both him and notfred are suffering from the Recently-Been-Dumped Bug that has been going around recently.

You arrive at work at least 15 minutes early daily and drive 1 mph under the speed limit at all times (just to stay in spec) as well don't you.
