Hi, thanks for clicking. I just installed a hardware monitoring app called Everest and it reads that my AMD 64 3500 is at 216F and MotherBoard monitor says the same thing. The reason i don't think this is right, is becasue my computer is very stable right now and quite fast. SO how can this be? is there a problem with my K8N Neo 2 motherboard sensors or what?

I searched other threads no one has had this prob before.

My motherboard temp is at 112F (45c).

I live in NYC temp is 75F right now.

Room is around 80 F.

Just take out the side panel of your case, and touch your HSF in comparison to the readings...if it not as hot as the computer claimed, thats mean your sensors are no good. It happened to me also, it shows up my mobo chipset temp running at 79C, which is high (even @ idle and full load) so I touched the chipset's hsf, and it's not hot at all, just nice and warm.

A CPU temp of 102C would cause fatal errors and your system would've crashed before.

The MSI K8N Neo2 sensors are fubar. ;)

One thing to consider... the CPU would only be getting that hot if it wasn't removing its heat... the Heatsink would accutlly feel very cool if the CPU was getting that hot.. because the heatsink isn't absorbing any of the heat off the CPU... meaning the mount was bad... maybe its not seating properly, no thermal compound or something like that.... If the CPU is putting out enough heat to raise a HSF to that high tempature then the cpu is accutlly alot hotter.

102 C is over boiling. Is steam shooting out of your case? If not, it's a bad sensor. :)
