According to a poster at FW, in order to get this price, the Sams Club must have only 1-2 left in stock.

Someone suggested buying the rest of their stock, then buying one at the $72 price, then returning the ones they bought at the regular price. Though it could be risky.

Good luck!

It's a clearance sale... that appears to not be at all Sam's Clubs even... huge YMMV.

This was also posted on the front page of ArsTechnica and no one there has found one either.

In this case YMMV = you must be this one person, at that one store.

Arent these pretty hard to setup on PC's?

If Microsoft would advertise these for use on the PC, and possibly make them easier to connect and use on PC's, maybe HD-DVD could take off with the mainstream crowd.

But of course, you need a full HDCP chain of connections to play hi def content, and probably a more powerful PC than most people have, so this wouldnt be for the mainstream crowd.

This is me rambling...

But dont you have to have a HDCP compliant video card + HDCP input on your display? Not many people have that do they?

I just see it as a good deal. I don't think nearly as many people will get this for the 360 compared to the amount of people with PS3s/Blu-Ray players...and an even smaller number know that you can get it to work with a PC.

I dont see it as anything to get worked up about, other than the sweet deal. I'm all pro-Blu-Ray, but I'm tempted to get one of these for my PC.

I was in our Sam's Club earlier this week and didn't see any HD DVD addons. They didn't have anything HD DVD or Blu-ray related at all, other than the PS3.
