Roll a priest, it's still the best healing class and you can go shadow when dual-spec rolls around.

there was a recent blue clue that they may have dual specs ready for 3.1.

Rolling a fashion sense and confidence is typically the best raiding class in the game of life. I raided a few birthday parties in the past few days and scored some pretty epic encounters. Rolled on a few crappy blues with the rest of my party and a few went LD soon after we entered the instances but we made out pretty well by the end of the night.

Timing is everything, though - I hear that after a few of us left some people got engaged in some nasty PvP combat and ended up with GM intervention. Nasty stuff. Our raid leader never leaves a man behind unless he's trying on his new epics and seems like his hearthstone will see him safely to another day.

Seemed to be a lack of Shaman on the Alliance side. I think all the people who switched to Shaman when they added them to Alliance are the same ones who are now playing Death Knights.

Tree, holy priest or resto shammy in that order IME.

While holy priests seem to have the most utility, trees bring a different dynamic to raid heals and we seem to have a major shortage of them atm. Resto shammies would be the same, but it seems we are a bit better supplied with them then we are trees atm and they don't seem to be the type of impact healer they were in TBC.

Big advantage to tree or shammy is that you can level them feral/enhance for a much smoother run to 80 then a shad priest IMO.

Resto Druids are HoTbots. Just get your rotation down and you'll be welcomed into any raiding guild.

BTW, HoT = Heals over Time (for those ppl not familiar w/ teh WoWspeak)

When dual spec arrives, the class/spec demands for raiding guilds will completely change so it is pretty much pointless to choose a class based on current demands. However, what most guilds that I know of on my server need right now are healing classes.

I tried... but my Warrior (that my priest plays with) is just so damn boring to play compared to my Death Knight and Paladin. I think the new Sudden Death 30 Rage Limit should come with an increase in the proc chance so at least we have buttons to push more often. Fury really isn't any better.

I do see a lot of people looking for healers for instances that are my level, but lucky for me, it's usually when I'm not on :p.

Pallys are going to be gross when the dual spec patch comes. Being able to swap between Ret and Holy is going to be a dream.

On my server (when I played a month ago), Warlocks. I was the only one in my guild. They all seem to have quit for the same reason I did-- Warlocks are gimp unless you're uber spec'd and then they're normal (as in, then they're OP, like any uber spec'd class). If you're not uber geared, you can't do anything PvP.
