I used to work there too and before they had the q-ing ovens, or McNukers, as I called them (pissed off some managers, many of whom took their "career" at McDonals'd way too seriously), every thing was made fresh. When you ordered a special 1/4 pounder, you had to wait 5 minutes for the beef to cook. Those McNukers were rolled around '91-92 out without realizing what an impact the new process (called staging) would have on food quality. Big corporate wastefulness in a middle-management heavy corporation. Another example: Face to Face drive-through ordering. It really slowed down the line. All the McD's in my area have installed standard speaker box/headset systems again. Ha-ha!
