Why is it that people always say things like "someone has too much time on their hands" when they see things like this? If you went to a craft fair and saw someone who had hand carved the seven dwarfs from blocks of wood would you say the same thing? Did Michaelangelo have too much time on his hands?
Maybe this Diablo pumpkin isn't going to make it into the Smithsonian but it's still a work of art. Obviously the guy has talent and chose to use his time by applying his talent and his enjoyment of a video game to that pumpkin. Everyone seems to think it is cool, so why the comments about too much time on his hands?
I just had to point this out as I see people making these same comments about Flash designs, websites or graphics as well. Seems like whenever someone produces something that may not have great significance on a grand scale - such as a silly yet nicely done Flash object - then that person must have too much time on thier hands. As if munching Doritos in front of the TV is a better use of time....
