Probably the most heartfelt speech from any media type I have heard to this point. He was holding back tears.

I was surprised also at Letterman's speech. Dan rather could not hold back tears during his segment so they just went to commercial break. i'm close to tears myself

Let me just say one thing, BEST LATE NIGHT SHOW EVER! Letterman was fantastic at the beginning, Dan Rather interview incredible and Regis, well, he's still Regis, but not bad and actually added some humor to an otherwise sad show. I now see why Letterman is the king of late night and wouldn't be surprised to see the ratings swing back in his direction and away from Leno after this show.
Great job Dave and I hope he keeps it up.

That surprised me to see that sort of emotion from both Letterman and Rather. Best Late Show I've ever seen. Props to both

I ran to my neighbor's house and watched the show. Dan Rather and David Letter were superb. I hope America is watching this.

If someone watching it can capture it on mpeg or something, that'd be nice. There's nothing wrong with showing their emotions constructively and positively. Its natural of them to do so. I don't see why they had to cut to commercial over that, just because you're strong doesn't mean you can't shed tears. Although I do understand that the crew is just being sensitive to the whole situation.

I'm also looking for a source to get this show from, since I missed it and I'm on the East Coast.
