I really dislike her voice. I'm not sure how much of it is the studio editing and how much of it is natural, but it sounds completely synthesisd and robotic to me - like there are two copies of her. It reminds me of a harpy.

My Immortal is also the worst song I've heard for many, many months. I really can't stand it. Just different tastes, I guess.

The one Evanescance moment I don't mind is the small part of 'Going Under where she goes 'Aayyyyyye-yaaaaaaye' (vague, but if you've heard the song you'll know the part), as her voice sounds natural for once - but as soon as that part ends, it's back to Dr Robotnik.

This is coming from someone who prefers female vocals almost exclusively 😉

She has the best voice only if you like that high pitched shrieking from the top of your lungs, so much that you want to drive a stake through your heart. I cringe everytime that damn song comes on the radio.

Seen them a couple of times by now, she's as amazing live as she is on the albums, and Tuomas songs fit her perfectly.

I love their album but I always thought her voice was a weak point. At first. On some songs she sounds better than others but I'm not even sure if I would say that she has a good voice.
"My Immortal" is one of my favorite songs from that album.

Angela Gossow. She's incredible. Easily the best death metal vocalist I've ever heard. Much raspier than most men I've heard, and she enunciates very well. It's seldom that one can decipher death metal lyrics without reading the lyrics.
