OK, I sent my 3000+ winchester of to AMD for testing, as Monarch voided my warranty on it. (Alot of you already know that story). Anyways, they were going to send me a 3500+ Newcastle (my CPU would not boot for them) because they had zero Winchester's (any speed) in stock. Apparently they are selling these as fast as they can manufacture them. Well, they were supposed to ship it out last Wednesday, but they ran out of stock on the 3500+ too. Well, they called me today at home, and still no 3500+'s in stock. So the rep handling my claim tells me he got permission to send me a 3800+. :Q He just needed to know if that was okay.... So I of course said "HELL YEA!!". They will ship it out tomorrow overnight.
Now I must say that is some very good customer support. Not just because they upgraded me, but because that was the 4th phone call I've received form them in the last 7 days. I never had to contact them to ask what was going on with my claim. They kept calling me and updating me. Unbelievable.

Yea, I must give some credit to Monarch. If it weren't for their dumbass policy (stil haven't changed their T&C on their website), I would have returned it to them and received another 3000+.

That is an amazing story. I would go to resellerratings.com and share it to everybody there too. You owe that much to monarch at least.

Isn't this what the "breaking-in" period for computer components is for? Free upgrades? No... ? :)

Kudos on AMD's service, that really is seemingly unheard of these days.

First you get a company that gives you fast processors at very CHEAP prices... AMD 3500's beat intel P4
3.4 EE in gaming usually.... the 3.4 EE is $1000 while the 3500 is $270....... Youd think they would have the Sh*tiest customer support ever....

Where is this world coming to??? AMAZING processors w/ AMAZING speed with AMAZING customer support...... I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A COMPANY WHO CALLS YOU!?!?!? they usually wait for you to call and dont even want to listen to you and want to get it over with.... just plain amazing.

-----------------------

Buying a Pentium 4 3.4 EE....... $1000
Buying an alienware................ $6000
Buying an AMD athlon 64bit...... Priceless

AMD ALL THE WAY and im so glad i made the switch from my P4 1.7 Ghz to the AMD 4000+..... Theres no way in hell i will ever go back!

Didn't the CPU break from being pulled up with the HSF though? My understanding is that AMD classifies that as user abuse since there's a warning about with with the CPU manual. If they've changed their policy, that's a pretty big deal on its own.:Q

Well the pins were slightly bent, but I was able to straighten them out. I told AMD what happened and they said straighting bent pins are fine. Now if a pin had actually broken off, they said they would not warranty that. As for why it no longer worked, I have no idea. I did alot of research and read about plenty of people accidentally bending their CPU pins, and I never read one where they straightened the pins back out and the CPU didn't work.

Please don't be stupid and ruin a good thing for the honest people.
They're doing this because they don't want to be known for selling defective products. As any company should. But please don't get the bright idea that you can take advantage of the system for your own gain because in the end it's people like that who make it difficult for the rest of us to get any honest help.

Actually Monarch was the one who was being idiotic, AMD was the one that upgraded his CPU.

I looked at your Newegg wishlist. Very nice, but for that sound card don't you want 5.1 speakers? You can just use on board sound with those.
Also, I've used that Saitek gamepad for over a year. By far the best gamepad I've ever tried.

I received my 3800+ from AMD yesterday as promised, and my system is now up and running. This is quite an upgrade from my 133 FSB XP 2200+. AMD is truly awesome. :D :D
