WOW! Just finished setting up dual Samsung 181T 18" LCD 's

I just finished setting this up for my dad. I must say, these things are absolutely beautiful!

Two 18" flat panels, side-by-side, running on a G450 dualhead (analog). It's being used for office applications.

Just a quick summary of the panels: no dead pixels, there are no viewing angle problems -- you literally have a 180 degree field of view. the response time on the panel seems pretty good -- there is no smearing when you move objects around quickly.

Question: what options are available for dual DVI video cards? Keep in mind the application--this is for office apps. And this picture quality is already perfect (or so it seems) -- what am I going to gain from DVI?

Samsung 181T

Which model samsung is that? I'm looking to buy a new LCD for this new rig...and it has DVI out (MSI GF4 ti4200) 🙂

I got a pair of 191t and then i switch to the dell 20" lcd, using dvi, max resolution is only 1280x1024.. with analog , i can do 1600x1200

With the samsung 191t, i can't tell the differnece with the g550 on dvi or analog..

I know the feeling, I'm about to finish setting up a quad-head (2x2) linux box running G550 AGP and G450 PCI powering four black NEC 1850Es. Running XMatrix screensaver across four displays in that arrangment is truly a sight to behold 😀

I had those 1850s too, and 1830s, they're make me dizzy in playing cs.. then i realize, lcd may never reach that speed i needed.. maybe in 6-12 month or so.. but I like those 1850 with shorter border frame...

As for the "speed" of the LCD's... these are *much* better than I have seen before. I haven't played games on this setup (none installed), but even scrolling text around quickly doesn't blur like it does on a lot of LCD's. The samsungs have a .7" border too, so that's good for putting them right together.

I must say I am quite jealous--I won't be able to afford such a setup for quite some time. 🙁

Well...

ATI has the FireGL4.
3Dlabs has the Oxygen GVX420 and the Wildcat 4210, 6110 and 6210.
PNY has the GeForce4-based Quadro4 900 XGL.
Appian Graphics has the AppianX and the Rushmore.
Colorgraphic has the Predator ProMedia.

Of course you already mentioned that
Gainward has the GeForce4-based Ultra 750/XP and that
Matrox has the Parhelia and the Millennium G200 and G550.

I think that's a complete list -- someone please correct me if I've missed anything.

Samsung makes some of the finest LCDs I've ever owned. The G450 is an excellent choice. Be sure you get the eDualhead application so you can view two parts of a web page at once. 😉
