Wow, I've been missing out [audio quality]

My car and computer speaker setups have always sucked.

In my car I have a $100 reciever and 2 $20 6x9s.
At home I have the Cambridge Soundworks FPS1000 with 2 speakers hooked up, running off of on board VIA sound.

Anyway, I've been thinking about upgrading my computer sound system, but since I couldn't tell what the difference would be, I never did.

Then I remembered that I work at a radio station 🙂

So I popped my Dream Theater-Scenes From a Memory CD into our professional CD player hooked up to our CSW monitors.

I can't believe how crisp it sounds. It sounds different. Not tinny or anything. I suppose I have just gotten used to crappy audio quality.

Guess I need to plan out a nice home set up....

WOW! :Q

Yea im sure they are (your ears) except when the volume is at 100% 🙂 Unless you're already deaf

I'm telling you, nothing beats kicking back (at a perfect equillateral triangle between the two front channel Polks for optimal stereo imaging) and enjoying a good, clean-sounding CD. I also use Monster Cable and optical digital connections for an even cleaner sound- it's orgasmic. Well, ok not quite, but it sure is nice.

Oh, and I hardly ever watch TV- it's just for DVDs usually.

Here's mine. Space is limited and things are somewhat strewn around a bit, but the sound is awesome. Sony WEGA XBR400 (36"), Yamaha receiver/amp (sorry, don't have the model #s handy), Klipsch speakers & sub. Cheap Toshiba DVD player, TiVo..

<------- Not poor, not a college student, can afford stuff like this

if u feel like upgrading, do ur pc first. pc audio = massive bang for buck. car audio on the other hand is horrific.

Yeah, I'll probably upgrade my computer. I might be getting a new car, so we'll see what kind of stereo that comes with.
Being single with no kids is good for my computer 🙂
