Hey all,

OK....

I have precious FEW musical favorites. The ones I have mean MUCH to me. One of those, Al Denson, who I consider one of my all-time favorites, put out an album in 1991, and I bought it (for some reason) got HOOKED, bought the video of the tour that went with it, and I have been a DIE-HARD fan ever since. I actually had the tape for so long, and listened to it so much, it developed such flutter, and wore so thin, it broke.
Well, I have been waiting for the CD to show up at half.com, and while I was waiting, I had to get a fix, so I DLed one of the songs off that album at my office.
The next morning (3 days ago), I was playing the song, and my office-mate walked in, made a weird face, and asked, "Who is that?"
"Al Denson", I told him...
"Yeah, that's my cousin."

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He went on to tell me, not only was it his cousin, it was his FIRST cousin (mom's sister's son), and he used to RIDE HIS TOUR BUS with him and go to the concerts! --And to top it all off, "Yeah, man....Al's around a lot. He stops by pretty often."

!!!!!!!!!!!

He stops by MY HOMETOWN all the time, to see MY OFFICE MATE! How weird is that? Well, Chad just couldn't beleive I was this huge devotee of his COUSIN, who to him, obviously, is just a normal person..... And he told me that the next time "Al" stops by, he'll give me a call, so we can maybe go hang out and do something sometime. HOW COOL IS THAT?

Then, he told me yesterday, Al's PROBABLY gonna be staying here for about a week coming up really soon! --And I found out just today, Al Denson was born IN THIS TOWN. Small world. Very small world. And what are the odds of all this happening?

Oh, BTW, the CD finally showed up BRAND NEW, STILL SEALED at Half.com! I ordered it tonight. So cool.

You're obviously on a roll, D-Dawg. I would buy a lottery ticket right now, if I were you. :)

On two somewhat related notes.... (small world, and this hometown related, anyway)

My sister just married Justin Timberlake's cousin, and spends some weekends at a family cabin where Justin and Britney hang out on their time off...

Another person who is ALWAYS in this stupid redneck town hanging out is MORGAN FREEMAN. Turns out, he is a huge State fan, and brings his horses to our vet school for routine care. --Also catches the occasional ball game.

Now if only I could find out that a friend is realted to Mr Freeman.... Hmmmm...... Maybe I'll start asking people. :)

I'm originally from Irvine, KY, the birthplace of Kevin Richardson from the Backstreet Fa...I mean Boys. Me and a friend was driving beside a campground on the outskirts of the county, and saw lots of nice cars and stuff parked there. Found out later that him and the rest of the band had snuck into Irvine, and Kevin was getting married there at the campground. Probaly a good thing they didn't tell anybody, they would've been flocked, knowing Irvine....I don't like the band, but it was pretty cool turning on MTV and seeing a documentary on them, and seeing our high school auditorium where Kevin was singing in an talent show.
