WoW is rediculous

anyone else on any of the rediculously laggy servers?

it's getting really rediculous and stopping pretty much all progess, which sucks hardcore since we are one of the few progressing Horde guilds on our server (only the 3rd to kill Nef, alliance has tons)

guild is considering moving servers...

anyone else want to bitch and moan?

I think they are upgrading all the servers to the new hardware, so that might fix the problem. I've heard our server has the same thing with guilds in BWL and getting 5-20 seconds lag spikes, but I haven't playing in weeks. 🙁

I'm on Cenarius and it used to be really bad, but since I've been back for the last week and a half it's been great. I ended up creating my horde on cenarius and my alliance on another server, but so far no need to play my alliance backups. I still can't believe the charge money to copy and paste your files to another server. That is so retarded I still can't believe it's true. Then again for a long time you couldn't transfer at all. Should be absolute freedom in transfers and 1 free transfer every month or 2.

what, pay $25 to move to another laggy server?

I don't play WoW anymore, stopped half a year ago, but this ticks me off. Amidst the complaints of lag and queues, Blizzard doesn't address the problem. They just come up with a way to make even more money and provide a workaround of the solution, so long as you're willing to pay.

And $25??? Holy cripes that's quite a lot of money just to modify some database tables.

The $25 isn't to make money or to cover costs, it's to ensure only people that *really* want to move do so. Otherwise, you'll have people server-hopping 10x a day for whatever reason - to find the best place, to harrass or troll, etc. It's be a lose-lose situation for both Blizzard and its "good" customers to allow free, unlimited, arbitrary server tranfers.

Yup, people who complain about the transfer fees don'trealize that
1) It's really smart
2) It's pretty reasonable.

I heard in everquest you had transfer fees of $99 and that you didn't move your gear/money. That's pretty harsh but then again was focused more towards a different genre of gamers i guess.

At 25 dollars they will make some money... but they only let you do it once every 6 months. I don't imagine impeding your ability to give them 25 bucks to do little work is really the best way to make money.

If you have a good reason to move (ie you're guild moved off the server and you didn't during a free transfer and regret it) then 25 bucks is a godsend. This isn't for "my friend plays on x server so i'll join him today, and come back tomomrow".

Our guild on Burning Blade has started a petition due to this lag and can be found here.

The lag has been so horrible that we have actually had to cancel some raids due to horrible lag, 10 second lag spikes during Vael = wiped raid. The lag on our server caused one of the top 10 worldwide guilds to pay the transfer fee and move onto another (possibly laggy) server.

I used to play on BB, who left? FH?

I died to the vael lag monster quite a few times. If there were 3 or more raids going in BWL at once it always lagged like hell.

I quit right after we killed Nef for the 1st time.

i played on galvendyr (sp?) cause my roommate was on there (i did the 10 day trial, he pays 😀), and i didn't have lag issues... of course, the other thing is that i'm at college 😀

Yup Forgotten Heroes left

And the petition is a start, we have also contacted consumer reporters to review our petition/performance of Blizzard and WoW

I'm on hyjal, one of the servers with new hardware

Although lag isn't completely gone, it's no where as bad as it was before - im averaging 50 to 90ms ping, with some spikes into the 200 sometimes.

The majority of lag occurs when I'm in BWL, and i believe most people associate that with too many guilds doing the razorgore encounter at once.

They have no excuses what so ever with the revenue they are pulling not to fix it. All they would have to do is Instance BWL further for each raid, but omgwtf that would cost them a few grand out of their $60mil/month revenues to improve the customer experience. Why do that when you can spend an order of magnitude more money on servers with new hardware and then charge $25 a pop for people to transfer away from their home server?

Thats funny that FH left... I didnt know, my friend and i were members of FH and quit.

There you can see recarnate not heal me for about 15 kills 😛

dude that ping is NOTHING. i would LOVE those pings. any and all times. (you must live near their server or something?)

most people on our server average 250+ normally (cept for some Cali people who have less) -
lag is when you get 600-3000ms. 😀

just as a side note, after getting Nef down a few times, we went into aq40 (2nd time, first time we wiped a bunch) and totally decimated first 3 bosses (first boss on 1st pull, 2nd boss on 3rd pull).
We havent done any of the NR bosses as the tanks (and many of the other ppl) don't have the proper NR gear yet.

6 Million users roughly, $15 a month....
raking in $90 Million a month and laggy servers? gimme a break.

NOT to mention the revenue generated from 6 Million WOW copies sold.

My bro is 24 and plays it freakin ALL THE TIME. I regret the day I bought him that damn game.

My guild all transfered servers... over 100 characters I think have tranfered so far from the guild with the possibliity of 160 or so more... that's a nice chunk of cash for copy pasting some info... I digress though; the server change did fix just about all of the lag problems.
