I just finished building my new p4 1.8a rig today. Ran it for about 6-7 hours at 1.8a, then pumped up the voltage to 1.65v and fsb to 139... so 2500mhz. Then I ran Prime95, understress, the temps were about 60-65 Celcius and idle is around 45. Pretty high no ?. Maybe the artic silver 3 hasn't fully cured. Also I only have the ps and cpu fan running, nothing else
.
However the interesting thing I noticed is that the stock fan, runs at a higher rpm than when the machine was at idle. Right now w/ prime on it's at 4100rpm. At idle is was around 3000rpm. I though the intel fans don't rev that high ?
The system has been running prime95 for about a hour so far... no problems and the fan is consistantly at 4000-4100rpm. Voltage is shown at 1.55-1.57v in mbm ( set to 1.65v in bios).
For a $177 processor, I have very happy with the results
