wow...in the DroneZ demo...there's a HUGE difference with texture compression on/off

There's a HUGE difference...like with texture compression on, my FPS is 50-60 or so...

with it off, i'm barely over 10fps

Is this normal?? Because i dont see this large a difference in Tribes 2...

While i'm on the topic...which looks better? 32bit uncompressed? or 32bit compressed textures? (or is it the same)

You're looking at the screen, can't you tell what quality is higher?

just take a screen shot or something and compare. there's usually a loss in quality when the textures are compressed as well, but i don't know how well dxtc works. and the textures in tribes2 aren't that great, resolution wise, so i don't think tc shines in that game.
