Ordered cable and internet for my new apartment this afternoon. Very nice CSR lady.

got the Silver digital cable package for 3 months at 19.95 w/ free Showtime, then the next two months at 49.95, then it goes to the normal price of $72.something.

Even better, for high speed internet, the deal we got was the first 2 months free, next 6 months at 19.99, next 3 months after that for $29.99, then it goes to the normal price of $42.95. That's 11 months of discounts out of the 12 months of our lease!

I haven't seen that deal posted anywhere?

I got a roommate so the bill gets divided by two also :)

Now hopefully, they come install it when they are supposed to this Tues and the service will be great. Am I asking for too much :)

I'm satisfied with them too. The transition has gone smoothly. We get the 10$ basic cable, but when you have both.. they take 10$ off.. so it ends up being free. Basic Cable and 1.5/256k internet for 58$/mo..

Plus, they upped the ammount of space you get with your personal webpage. :D

I get the exact same deal as you (basic cable TV and 1.5/256 internet), but for $10 less per month.... hmm...

Where do you live, maybe it's a locality thing?

About 25 channels... all the regular channels, some stuff in spanish, home shopping network, public access TV...

It's basically all the major networks in better quality than you can get over the air, that and about 10 crap channels that no one ever watches.

Wait till you have problems with you. Worst CS/Tech in the world. Additionally 3 guys in my CS clan have Comcast and they too have nothing but headachs with Comcast (one in GA, one in VA, me in TN, and 1 in PA) all with Comcast Problems at one time or another. One member right now is having total loss of connectivity and has about a week now. All the sudden he'll just drop from IRC or in the middle of a game, and it takes about 5 mins for him to get back running.

My problems are well documented, including probably 6-7 complete bold face lies from the corporation in a two month period where i had 2000 ping to the freaking gateway server, and they kept giving me excuse after excuse.

I love my cable modem...but.
When it works, its freaking awesome. When it doesn't, its a hellish nightmare.

agreed, when it works, it can be fast like no other, but once you hit problems, it'd be nice if you had a 56k account avaible cuz my 56k was faster then comcast is 50% of the time

I think you can hook up more than one computer to it w/o a router, just need a hub. They dish out unique IPs for you.

Must be. I live in Portland, OR.

It's always been about 55$/mo.. I think there are a couple of taxes or fees that come with the basic cable.. so that ups it to 58. We also don't own the cable modem, maybe that has something to do with it..

Here, we only get 2(ABC), 4(WBP), 6(CBS), 8(NBC), 10(PBS/OPB), 12(UPN), 13/49(FOX) and some channel called PAX without cable... so it's a pretty good deal.

Wow you guys are paying alot for cable.

I get Sky Digital multi channel package for about £18 ish or £20. Then I get Cable internet at 600kb for £25.

I wouldn't pay much more myself.

It's pretty expensive, yeah.. but that's what it goes for around here. My 768k/128k DSL was about 55$/mo, also. There's a pretty big difference between a 600k and a 1.5mbps internet connection though.. almost double the speed. It's worth it.

Getting free basic cable is a nice perk though, it makes the cost seem much more reasonable.
