...now my daughter is going into 8th grade and taking "Keyboarding". Sounds like they finally trashed all those IBM Selectric's 🙂

I know what you mean. VeggieFrog will be 20yrs old in Oct. and I watch her take stuff in school and go thru things in life that I did, seemingly just yesterday!

Psh, I learned all my keyboarding skills from talking on ICQ and MSN, not from some cheap ass "Keyboarding" class in highschool! Besides, the computers at my school are more less typewriters 😛
 
my HS calls it "office suite" they do some stuff in PP, word, excel... but its all so mind-numbingly easy! i took it when it was just "keyboarding".. its so sad, my school is trying to make a name for itself and make the school sound good (it is a good school, but we're not some uber leet prep school and they want that image.. but im graduating this coming year, so i'll get out before things become sh!tty!)

Bah, it was keyboarding when i was in 8th grade, and that was like 8-9 years ago
 
I took typing in middle school. But it was called "Computer Class" all we did was type for awhile and then play Wolfenstein 3d and doom on the teacher's computer. I think we had a test on binary too.

shouldnt keyboarding be the electronic musical instrument?

what happens when the music program starts a keyboarding class? do they call it typing 😕

oh thats right... schools dont have any more money for art and music programs...

edit: do we thank bush? i should probably take that to p&n....
 
HA! When they made me take typing in 8th grade is was on old fashioned mechanical typewriters.

It never took. I'm still a two finger typer to this day.
