I wouldn't really shoot a cat with it. It's a break barrel rifle which means you bend the barrel back ONCE to fully charge it. It's not like a crosman you can get at walmart that you have to pump 10+ times to fully charge. With those, you could pump once and shoot the cat, but that is just mean.
