Wow, I did not know you could buy Microsoft products seperatly.

Till now. I though in order to have Word, Powerpoint, frontpage, you will have to buy the whole bundle; Office XP. I am so glad now. Just wanted to share it for know reason.

Yeah, its cool if you only want to upgrade a single product. But overall, its cheaper to go with the Office pack if you need them all.

Still using Office 97 myself... 🙂

I too did not know you could buy programs separately. I only use MS Word and Excel so I would be interested to see if buying them separately would be economical. If you would not mind, could you explain where/how you order separate programs?😱:disgust:😱

When I used to work at staples we would sell them individually. For some reason we only put out the copy of Office and you had to ask for the Word or Frontpage or whatever you wanted.

According to Pricegrabber.com, Word is $30. And Excel costs $25.99. Also Office XP Pro (Full Product) is $270 unless I am mistaken or something. So what were you saying?

Wait a minute, what were you saying? All of those vendors that are selling it under 200$ are shady vendors AT BEST. Read some of the complaints on resellerratings.com about some of em (if you can find em, half the sellers aren't even listed). For example, people receiving academic licensed software instead of Retail or OEM. And, the only cheap Excel 2002 sellers are selling special business or academic software, not OEM.

But I figure I'll help you out a bit and point you to where you can get the Word from a legit Vendor for $30-$35 a pop:
Word 2002:
DirectDeals.com $32.75

Excel 2002 is basically an impossibilty to find OEM, so your SOL there unless you wanna buy Retail for $200+. Only reason Word2002 is so cheap is because its the most commonly used product out of the suite, hopefully enticing the users to buy other MS products.

Sure you can buy them separately but I've often found that genuine retail copies of any two of the programs included with Office often cost more than the whole package.
