Vonage Softphone = Vonage (Internet Phone) through a laptop/desktop (i.e. No adapter nor phone needed)

People can call a local phone number and it will ring my laptop phone anywhere in the world, as long as i have internet...

I then hooked my bluetooth USB dongle and paired it with my Bluetooth headset to use as a mic and speaker...

Heh, sounds cool. Tether your cell phone via Bluetooth to your laptop and you can use it as a modem to get internet access almost anywhere.

I don't know about you, but my cellphone gets reception in a lot more places than my laptop gets wifi reception. Wouldn't you get better coverage more simply by just getting a cell phone?

Not when im travelling internationally..... All incoming calls are free as are all calls from/to our main vonage houseline....

Its for cost, not portability :)

It would probably be easier to get a cell phone.

That's pretty sweet...I'm setup with SR now (well, family is), but no "Softphone" here yet.
