Cool! When the birds run along the ground, their gait makes them seem... big and strong. Pretty awesome.

Its funny, Bald Eagles were so endangered and so protected that they have now become a menace in many parts of the US. Not to mention they are pretty much scavengers and oportunistic birds. Nothing like seeing the symbol of your nation digging through a garbage dumpster for a half eaten cheese burger like a common crow.

Still... cool video :)

Blocked at work. We have a couple of Bald Eagles at my cabin in northern minnesota. One of them about 15 years ago was sitting in a tree eyeing my 20 pound main my excellent compatriot cat. The cat got real low to the ground when he finally saw him. I decided it was probably time for the cat to come inside.

You dont realize how big of a bird they are until they get close. The wingspan on that one had to be 6-7 feet.

It's pretty nuts on how strong birds can be with their hollow bones and all. Not sure if it was on OT that there was a video of a falcon taking down a fawn.

Speed on those dives give them a lot of strength.

I mean imagine a grain of sand going at the speed of light....

That's wild. I thought they were solitary birds/couples and didn't hang around each other.

I assume the speckled ones are juveniles?

Sounds a lot like the people of the country they represent. ;)

I don't know what's more touching, seeing dozens of wild bald eagles together or seeing a bunch of 5 year olds being taught to respect and appreciate them.

/edit: My only concern is seeing them getting comfortable and close enough to people to take handouts. Not everyone is going to have the same appreciation and awe of them that these people did.
