Wow, Hootie and the Blowfish isn't so bad

Listening to it right now...it's a pretty moving song. Seems well thought out, catchy, and meaningful. Of course, I thought it was lame when it came out, since I was only in 7th grade. 😉

Duhn DUhn, I ONLY WANNA BE WITH YYOUOUouuuuuUUOOOOOOOooo...

I hate that commercial (mercury I think). It is so generic that I would not think anything of it except for the fact that I am hearing that damn song every 5 minutes. ARRGghhh.

Sorry, but too many wannabe kids at my middle school all those years ago soured me on them.

Ya, when their first album came out, I thought they were great. Same with the Counting Crows' first(which may be one of my personal top tens).
But HatBF just seemed to fizzle out, and never really came out with much else that was too great, whereas Counting Crows also just kind of tailed off, but still released some decent stuff along the way.
Two good bands that no one seems to like or care about anymore.

"I go blind" is a good one too. Remake of a 54/40 song, but I think hootie does it well.

I agree with RR - august and everything after by counting crows is definitely one of the best albums of the 90's. You can listen the whole way through and feel no need to hit "next".

<--Big John Tesh fan. I can't say I'm a Hootie fan, but I do like the songs that I know.

I like listening to hootie's first cd a lot more now than I did when it came out. I've mellowed out I guess.

as far as hootie goes, i draw the line at their cover of orpheus's 'cant find the time'. thats about as hootie and the blowfish i get.

OMGWATERMELON

Hootie rules! Proud Hootie fan here. I haven't listened to it in a long time, but their entire first album is still one of my favorites. I'm gonna have to dust it off now.
