Man i went to compusa and saw incredible Toshiba P25 Laptops with the huge screen. Large screen isn't too important for me, but the quality was just amazing. The surface was smooth and doesn't seem to have the antiglare coting like all the other monitors, but the colors were twice as vivid and crisp. Why can't other laptops have this kind of screen? Is there a special name for it?

If you can find a store that carries the Fujitsu N Series those are some beautiful screens They are called MVA
don't know if thats what the toshiba is using or not.
But the Fujitsu's are great almost like a CRT

sweet i'm going to try find a Fujitsu too. Anyone know any other laptops with as nice screens? I was almost ready to get a Compaq X1000 but don't know what those screens look like. I now remember why i've always hated laptops, their ugly screens. You tilt like 1 degree and it gets half as bright. Man i wish those Toshibas came cheaper and with Centrino. I wish it was easier to find what the screen looks like without having to go find one in real life.

you obviously haven't seen the Toshiba screen, becuase its in a different class all together. WXXXGA means nothing.

Well the P25 is made by Compal, so find out who else they are making them for.

This is just my opinion, I can't understand why someone would want a machine that big. I'd rather opt for a SFF with a large LCD monitor.

Three fans in that unit for the 2.8GHz P4 w/HT. I am suprised the AC adapter doesn't have a built-in fan, as it is rated for 120W output.

p25 looks great on the outside, and is mostly crap on the inside, unfortunately, at least compared to the 5205 series they seem to be replacing it with.

I ordered the Compaq X1000 already since it will take like a month to ship. Might as well "reserve" it. Centrino, 1.4Ghz, Radeon 9200, WSXGA, DVD burner for $1300 is hard to beat. But i have a month to keep looking. I haven't seen the X1000 in real life yet, but i'm gonna try hunt one down. I found the Toshiba uses a "CVA" screen. Can't find much about it though. I think the screen is more important to me than horsepower.
