Yeah, it's defintely THE "mod" for BF2. It's the Desert Combat of BF2. Last I checked, there were 200+ servers running it.
 
Game play is fast and feels more realistic than bf2. More cover for infantry. Running through tall fields of wheat (or whatever it is) is a trip. Cool maps. (Or is it they are just new?). Gotta try it.
 
Could someone link me to the direct download link? I don't know what to click on after I clicked on the Hypernia download site.
 
I was pulling nearly 2MB/sec off the torrent on hypernia last night. So definitely give that a try.

Choppers take a little getting used to, but PoE2 definitely Newbie-Approved

Thanks for the heads up. I've never planned on even bothering with mods until now.

While it's downloading... Does this have an auto-install exe?
err.. a better question.. How does this thing work? Do the servers just show up on the list or do I have to run a different battlefield2 exe?

I remember seeing something in one of the game menus about playing different 'mods'.. does that have something to do with it?

They have a shortcut to start bf2 with the poe2 mod. When you're in the server list, one of the filters is show only servers running the same mod.
 
What the? Is it just me or is there only like one server hosting this mod on their server?

Can someone gimme the IPs of some good PoE servers for BF2?

Nvm, damn BF2 server browser. I got a good list of servers already.
 
This mod is awesome, going to put some hours into this one. Just played a round on the map called "Rivne". Really cool night map :thumbsup:
 
This Mod Rocks...

However the servers I played on always seemed to rotate after every map...which was annoying due to the load times...

and the same map seemed to come up all the time...FALLEN....

I must have died like 20 times on that map...can never see where anyone is coming from...fun but frustrating...

The checkpoints get taken so fast and from so many angles there is really no where to hide or take cover...


For anyone who hasn't played it...the MAPS are FANTASTIC...the weapons accurate and the gameplay\speed is fast...

I only wish the regular BF2 was this good...it is a sad sad shame that it sucks so bad compared to this mod...

The sniper rifle and the assault gun rocks.

I think I know why the maps usually change after 1 round.. On a server I was playing yesterday it took litterally over an hour just to finish 1 game. I played about 3 or 4..
I havn't even seen all the maps yet. (their is 1 that I thought sucked bad though) The map is like a freakin maze, spend 20 minutes driving around trying to get to a base(lots of cliffs and impassable areas).. finally get to it and.. of course landmines.. repeat x30
After about 45 minutes of NOTHING happening we just let the tickets bleed.

Besides that, I would definatly reccemend this mod.

The rounds do last a long time...which may account for my multiple noob deaths...

But seriously it is a bad ass Mod...the sniper rifles are sweet...you pull off multiple rounds with little recoil...

Just last night I capped 3 guys in roughly 5-6 seconds...just bam bam bam...three kills from the SVD...would never be able to pull that off in BF2.

The Assualt guns rock too...and apparently the Medic gun is nice...since it was killing me every single time 😀

It really is...in nut shell it is everything that BF2 or BF2 SF or any BF2 expansion should have been...

Something fun and fast paced...

I am just floored at how cool the maps are and how well they are set up...they have a lot of open space...but also cover for other classes such as sniper.

One thing that seemed wierd was flying the chopper...it seemed to fly on rails when I got one chance tofly it...which ended up into a bunch of trees 😀
