WoW: FYI, more RAM does not solve AH problems

I've seen a lot of people here and on the WoW forums claiming that more ram will solve Auction House problems. I hade 768mb before and upgraded to 2.5gb due to needing to do some development work on the machine. Now, when scrolling quickly in the AH, it still causes major problems for me sometimes. One time it took 4 minutes to respond and then disconnected me. The other times it just hung for 30 seconds or so.

However, more RAM does help performance in other aspects. When switching characters, there is less reload times for some parts. I can switch in and out of WoW with no trouble at all. Mail seems to be quicker, though that might have been because I checked it in off-peak hours.

i dunno why only certain servers are having problems..

i made a shammy alt on Burning Blade that also has a high pop during prime time

Yes, I already do that. I just wanted to let people know who are considering upgrading their RAM to solve WoW problems. It doesn't fix very many real problems that I had. The game is just slightly smoother and less crunching after you have been playing for a bit.

Ah, ok. Maybe it might benefit a few readers who are new to WoW though.

I went from 512-1GB, the biggest noticeable difference was minimizing and then browsing. It's quick instead of quite a bit of lag at the browser. The game is a bit smoother too, nothing huge though.

I know most of the lag I do experince is from my processors, 1.2Ghz on one machine and 900Mhz on the other. But I looking forward to smoother performance from Blizzard's end in the near future.
