Warning : my brother has disappeared from family events after buying this game. This may do the same to you.

Seems like he needs to be shot in the crotch (G4 allusion)

Make sure you check w/ your SO or parents before you buy/install this game. Some people would rather you smoke crack than play this game...

They sure seem bent on giving the discs away..It's been $20 at some store for about a month.

They definitely make most of their money from the rake-in monthly subscriptions. I think they are currently getting ~100 million $$$ each month from the monthly subs only. They just want more people to get addicted, and this is an incentive. :p

No doubt. Do they sell crack right next to it?

I'm not touching it. :)

The "get ready to lose your life..." posts that come up whenever this game is discussed are getting EXTREMELY old. Get over it already.

I'm not thread crapping if I post something ON-Topic, am I? ;)

A: This is a *great* deal, especially that Fry's price. B: They could be trying to move that many more because the expansion has just started being available as being pre-ordered in places. C: It only takes over your social life if you let it (and if you had one in the first place...)

Question about the game: I've played other MMORPGs like EverQuest, City of Heroes, & Guild Wars (I know it's not technically a MMORPG). I always enjoy them for about 2-3 months and then they get passed over for something new. The main problem I've had is that none of my offline friends play and the guild ties are always too weak for me to feel like you're actually a part of something bigger than your solo character.

I've always seen this game talked about as the crème de la crème of MMORPGs, does it do much to address this issue?

Thanks,
CK

There are more people, and the good apples, which are plentiful, are friendly and ostensible, especially if you find a good guild, but the bad apples are rotten, infected, and stuck repeating Chuck Norris jokes ad nauseum. Depending on your playstyle, you'd probably either love it or hate it, but with all the new content, you're most likely good to go.

I'd probably pick this up if it wasn't for the monthly fee...thank god for that fee otherwise I wouldn't take the time away to make this useless post.

Wow this thread is still active, anyway just so people know, it's been a little over two months now since I got in on this deal and I'm a 60 mage in an end game raiding guild doing bwl. yes i have no life, will power, or self control. I do have a ton of mana though.
