Also, it would appear that the cable that magnetically connects to the mouse is ONLY for charging and has nothing to do with physically connecting the mouse to the computer via USB...it just charges it while the mouse still remains hooked up through wireless.

Yes, which is why I don't see the point of wireless mice that go beyond anything more than web surfing.

It has been reviewed and proven that new age wireless mice like the X8 and Mamba are perfectly fine for gaming with no lag. This has been tested by reviewers and professional gamers.

Please go spew some flaming nonsense elsewhere.

I've been using the original sidewinder for the last 3 years and it's the best one I've ever had.

I have the Mamba and it's shit. I even use it exclusively wired now and it's still shit.

are any B&M stores carrying this? I can't seem to find anything but "available online" except for walmart.com that will do ship to store

I owned the Mamba and have to agree, dont see all the hype over that thing.

Well, about my X8...I dont know if something around me was causing interference or if the sensor was dirty or what...but the mouse is working fine now and has been for a hours now...hmm...interesting...

Amazing how different our hands are!

It felt very awkward (mainly way way too long and big) when I gave my 10 minutes or so at the local fry's. I am totally at home with my G9 with the wider grip for your record.

Glad you like it though, go frag away already :D

Yeah, I used the G9 with the wide grip too. And the X8 is one of those that at first felt weird as hell and I was scared I might not be able to use it. An hour later after finding the perfect hand placement could not be happier with fit and comfort!

How are thumb buttons and the pinky rest? I have the G500, but it's really uncomfortable to position the pinky for me. I'm also looking for a mouse where I can just rest my thumb on the side buttons, since I use it continuously in Starcraft 2. The X8 looks like it's positioned in a really nice place.

I LOVE the side buttons! Theyre easy to push but not easily pushed, meaning that I can rest my thumb on them and never accidentally push them...very well thought out on MS part.

Pinky rest? Hmmm...depends on how you hold it I guess...for me Ive had no issues in this department, my whole hand fits on the mouse nice and comfortably!

Hmmm, I like the X8 being wireless but able to charge while in use (overcomes the main thing that I hate about wireless mice - having to wait for them to recharge).

But I prefer the size and customisable grip and weight of the G9x. X8 seems too big, I don't like big mice!

I think I'd wait till something comes out with advantages of both.

I've been using the Logitech MX 518 for a few years now and I like it but it is a little bit on the small side for my large hands, thinking of switching to the X8, should I go for it?

A big mouse like this isn't good if you're a fingertip mouser. Only good for wrist mousers. Keep that in mind
