I took advantage of one of Dell's Black Friday offers. I ordered a 60" TV. It arrived today and to my surprise there was a 65" box in my living room. I had to do a double take. I opened the box to make sure that it wasn't a 60" TV in a 65" box. Sure enough it was a 65".

Thanks for the gift, Dell! :)

As a side note, I do think Dell needs to work on their tech support staff. When I called the 800 number to query about my order, this guy answered the phone rudely and told me to call another number because I didn't have my order number handy. I wish I could slap him with a large trout.

Is it a crappy 65" one?

Crappy is relative. When I saw the TV at CompUSA, I thought the picture quality was crappy. I called Dell at the store to try and cancel my order, but they couldn't cancel it. I'm glad they didn't. The picture quality is actually pretty good.

The problem with the store setting is that there lights are so bright, so it drowns out the image on the screen. But a typically house setting is nowhere near as bright as the store. This TV looks good in my living room.

call them ASAP and tell them you still haven't received your 60" TV...tell them to overnight it or you will do a chargeback!

I kid... :)

Nice one dude. I would give them a call but most likely it won't be worth the effort to ship it back and they won't care.

It will cost Dell more money to ship the 65" back to themselves, and a 60" out to him then the difference in cost.

Congratulations! You have an additional 328 sq inches of zit-cream-commercial viewing goodness than you expected.

They might have ran out of 60" and rather than cancel people's orders just sent alternatives. They just want to move a lot of product.

And inquired about your order already? Dang, I thought I was impatient waiting for my Amazon order on the Nov 19th, "delivered on the 24th", but not actually delivered until Dec 2. :)

Having an order number or tracking number is pretty much a given I thought when calling for that. And a company like Dell I'd expect their online status to be pretty much all you are going to get. Plus there is Dell chat.

Silly people, do you know nothing of negotiations. You must call Dell, tell them you did not get the tv you ordered and the one they sent is to big. Demand they overnight you the smaller version and come pick up the 65. If they cannot comply (which they will not) tell them that you want a discount off the tv so that you can make adjustments to handle the bigger TV. You suck if you cannot steal another $200 from Dell! Now get to it!

Yep. In college, the guy in the dorm room next door to me accidentally had an extra monitor shipped to him by Gateway. He called Gateway back to let them know and they told him to keep it because shipping it back would be too much.

Call and tell them you ordered the 60" for a reason because it fits in your alloted space. They will ship you the 60" as you ordered and most likely tell you to keep the 65" for your inconvience :p Or tell them you will keep the 65" but would like a blu-ray player instead of the 60" :p

I knew it was too good to be true. The shipping company called and said they delivered the wrong item. Now I gotta call them up and setup a convenient delivery time today.

Hopefully, they'll show up on the agreed time and not within a time window. I'd hate to ruin dinner plans just to wait on them.

Not sure how they end up delivering the wrong item. It's probably because on my package delivery sheet the dimensions are shown as 65" width.

i would call and make sure you are not charged for the 65. i doubt they would tell you to send it back. shipping would be far more then the price diffrence.

and as someone else said odds are they ran out of 60's so just sent you a 65. this is nothing like the other thread people are talking about.

There is a minimum price difference of $1000.00 between the 60" and the 65" TVs on the Dell site. No wonder they want's it back. Now the people who ordered this 65" TV will get an open box TV and I bet they won't be happy about it.

How about the TV you ordered? Did they deliver it to somebody else?

Actually, Dell didn't call up. The shipping company called. They said they have the right TV and would like to swap it. I just need to call them as soon as I get access to my phone.

Not sure if they delivered my TV to another person. It better not arrive open boxed.

That is why you only go in store to tweak the TV yourself, they are all setup so horribly.
