I grew up never touching any diet soba. Diet coke tasted like crap and you could taste the fake sugar aftertaste.

I've been trying to lose weight. First time in my life, I spent money on a diet drink - Coke Zero.

It tastes surprisingly similar to regular coke (which is the aim of Zero whereas Diet Coke is meant to be different).

I really feel like I'm cheating my body. Mwahahahaha.

Unlike Diet Coke, the Zero's initial hit and through-taste is deceivingly similar to real coke. Only at the very end, there's the aspartame aftertaste.

After few sips, you don't even notice it.

Diet Coke tastes fake from start to finish.

Its pretty good, the best of the diet sodas. I feel like the difference becomes more noticeable as you drink it though, not the opposite.

I've basically just decided to drink soda less to the point where its OK to have the real thing when I do. A can of Coke is still better for you then a candy bar...

yeah i stopped drinking coke due to sugar and the sucky taste of diet. Now that there is coke zero i guzzle the stuff. That and diet dr. pepper, which tastes great in diet form also.

In fact, I can no longer stand normal coke out of cans and bottles. If it's out of a machine, I still love it, but can/bottle coke must be in diet form. Effing addiction.

Soda fountains around here have Coke Zero. Almost any place that has regular Coca Cola.

I like it much more than Diet Coke but it is really harsh on my stomach and gives me much worse indigestion than regular Coke. Diet Coke seems to be the least harsh.

Chik-fil-a, Hardee's, Chipotle, and even McDonald's have it in their fountains here.

Coke Zero tastes more like Coca Cola which I don't like. Even though Coke Zero is artificially sweetened, it tastes too sweet for me (I don't like sweet drinks).

I think Diet Coke was my "gateway" into the world of diet sodas. It's actually an odd story. I was sitting in a hotel room in Hollywood... Maryland... after a job interview, and I was feeling a bit parched. Now, this was back when I used to play World of Warcraft, and I recalled how my guild master would always go on and on about how she thought Diet Coke was the best thing since sliced bread and how it was as good as the normal stuff. I tried diet drinks in the past such as Diet Mountain Dew, but I never cared for them much; however, I figured that it couldn't hurt, so I gave it a try! It wasn't bad at all! Now, I tend to drink Coke Zero over Diet Coke, but I don't really notice a difference anyway. Actually, the only place where I absolutely refuse to get Diet Coke is at Five Guys. For some reason, their Diet Coke just tastes awful, and I absolutely have to get Coke Zero. I can drink it from the bottle without any qualms though.

Any of that garbage screws with my gut in some of the most uncomfortable of ways, and sometimes results in me spending the next hour in the bathroom with up to another couple hours of great discomfort.

A little odd in a way since most stuff does not bother me in the slightest, no matter how refined or fake it is, but aspartame or sucralose both do me in, sucralose being the worse offender.

I think for the most part, diet soda is sort of an acquired taste. It's similar to the people who like miracle whip over the real thing.
