ya I played EQ in an uber guild for almost 5 years.. that is how i got into WoW alpha..
I had 5 chars all in thier high 50s-65..
all had epics and super rare weps from the sleeper tomb and VP...
that was fun I loved to raid...
what i didnt love was having to run home log in and RACE to the raid for the night so aosm other uber guild didnt beat us to it...

or having another guild bust in and casue problems when we were doing Trak...

id much rather have an Instance where I can have nothing but my guildies in it with me no outside morons to either try to steal the camp, or casue other problems like purposly casuing undo agro to whipe out the guild thats trying to do the camp/mob so another guild can try it...

these were all bad things about EQ..
while the racing to spawns and planes to try to get them before anyone else was kinda exciting it was more fustrating when your plans get shot to hell becasue someone else got home
earlier than you and took the camp..

I also did not like the constant camping in all the dungeons for exp and loot you knew was gonna drop there...
at least WoW randomizes everything... there is no camping etc... unless its a quest opbject like wolf meat or some crap =P
then you might have some player backups and some conflict over spawns...

what level are ya bro? in the stress?
try to get to 20 and head to westfall and to the vancleef quest...
its the first instance you can do with your friends... also a pretty good sence of i cannot die here or im screwed =P
 
With all you're mentioning i'm not surprised at the positions you're taking here. You have to realize though, that not everyone attained those lvls in EQ! The highest we got was early 40s.
Instances are a great idea, but my biggest fear is that they will turn the players of world of warcraft into a bunch of "self dependant" loners (or something along those lines but less melodramatic :/). This isn't what i want from a MMO, certainly not! I love the 2 profession limit and I love interdepedence.

In the stress test I only have a lvl 8 Dwarf pal and my current (I started with my wife when she was admitted to beta) which is a lvl 7 undead rogue. She's got a 16 tauren shaman.

Know of any instances in Horde land? Not that i'll be able to reach 20 before Sunday night 🙁

Well with sunday noon deadline coming soon it's time to say goodbye to Chompman (this time for real not like last time before they gave us 4 more days).

Level 22 dwarf paladin with over 7 gold just before buying the new armor and skills but still had over 5 afterwards. Blacksmith is a must for fighting classes it seems since armor and weapons are better at the levels then most store bought items at equal level or a few afterwards. Really helps when it works where the new set of armor comes between the 5-6 levels where you can buy from npc's.

On a side note looks like you need to be level 40 or above to get a spot into the closed beta on most servers :Q

Well at least it will be new to me once the game comes out unlike for those poor sob's 😛
 
I got in on this although it was a little late. Got the email on Thursday and it took me two days to download it. It was around 2 gigs. The game is like crack, the fact that it was going to be closed on Sunday only made me want to play it more. The world is HUGE. Tons of things to do, fight, look at. I would buy it and pay the monthly fee but I would never leave my room. Good lord I wish it didnt stop today.
 
WoW is great yall crashed our log in server 1 last time before yall left lol
was down 3 hours last night
guess that last rush to play the stress was too much for the Logins..
