Wow. Churches are way political... and not in a Jerry Falwell way

I came to a local coffee shop to get some work done, and these two ladies sat down 8 feet away from me. One lady starts bitching, loudly, in the middle of the quiet, yet busy sitting area, about some people in her church. Apparently she is a preacher at some Methodist church localy, and officers within the church are trying to fvck her over. She's pretty angry, talking about "viscous" and "annoying" congregants. "I mean come on, I know we're supposed to be gracious and benevelant..."

It's quite distracting.

It reminds me of my Grandfather's dealings with his old Babtist church, which he was the head finance dude of since its inception. They made the mistake of hiring some slick new head pastor, who promptly split the church into factions, and driving old paritioners away.

My old thesis advisor in college was really preoccupied with church politics, too.

With all this bickering, who has the time for Jesus Love?

Great, she left. But I can't get back into work mode :(

I was really surprised by how petty she sounded. I guess the few preacher's I've met are the cool, grouned ones (well, personality-wise ;))
