We just recently set up a kiosk in the main hallway here at work. We put a foam & paper border around the touchscreen LCD with instructions and a few pictures on how to use the kiosk.
One of the pictures on the border shows the user how to use the scrollbar to go up and down on the screen. One of the employees decided to test out the new kiosk. Well instead of trying to touch the touchpanel screen and moving the scrollbar on the panel, she tried to move the screen USING THE SCROLLBAR ON THE FOAM & PAPER BORDER! She sat there trying to move the "scrollbar" for a good 8-10 seconds before someone came and showed her how to use it. During the meantime, she was saying, "Why the heck doesn't this thing work? I think it's broken."
I couldn't stop laughing! It was even funnier because after the guy advised her to actually touch the scrollbar on the touchscreen, he jokingly asked her how she got to work this morning!
Here are some pics of what I mean with the kiosk:
1. Simple kiosk design in MS Paint
2. Low quality kiosk picture with the "scrollbar" circled
