I just renewed my Progressive policy under the Kansas City, MO rate because I'm moving there in a week and a half. Here in Colorado I was paying $1400/6 months for full coverage on my 2001 prelude. For the same coverage in Kansas City I'm paying only $969! I never knew how badly I was getting ripped off living in CO.

Actually it's because hitting corn stalks does a lot less damage than hitting other cars.

It all depends on whether your state is at-fault or no-fault. No-faults are usually MUCH higher than at-fault. My example on my '93 Explorer: Indiana (at-fault): $480/6 months; Minnesota (no-fault): $760 for MUCH less coverage with the same provider in both states (State Farm). No-fault states SUCK!

this makes sense...I think CO just went from being no fault to at fault. But the prices are still high because 37% of CO drivers are uninsured due to the high rates

$2600/year in NJ with allstate, even with no points on my record :Q

this is on a measly '03 civic lx...damn you allstate!

Heh. Try Iowa. Even cheaper. I pay less than $1000 a year for full coverage on a '00 VW Passat and liability only on a '94 camry.

Urban areas = expensive, suburbs = a little less, rural areas = a lot less.

Minnesota = No fault MEDICAL, not liability, but I guess it still makes a difference.
