Damn. I've been copying my DVD's to my hard drive, and I just replaced my Athlon classic 950 with a XP1600+. Despite the fact that the clock speed on the XP is just about 50% higher than the Athlon classic, it rips DVD's (and encodes to DIVX) twice as fast! damn, I'm impressed.

I don't, I use cladMdec to rip, and DVD2AVI to encode, and virtualdub to add audio. Serioulsy though, this chip is encoding to divx almost in real time. I'm doing a 1:53 long movie, and the estimated time to encode is 2:05.

oh, and I installed office 2K and some stuff while it was encoding.

I was ripping some DVDs today too, and noticed how fast it went, it took almsot 3 times as long on my old 1.33 @ 1.43 thunderbird
