I purchased a JVC 48" Widescreen back in Nov 2002. At the time I was seriously considering not getting the 4-year extended warranty/service plan from Best Buy. I finally decided to get it since the set cost $1700 and would cost a bit to repair if something happened.

Well, my decision was proven correct today as the convergence on my the red lamp in the tv went screwy today. I go into the TV settings and try to adjust the convergence and I can move the red lamp up and down but not side to side. So, I've got these red ghosted images all over the place. The pisser is, the repair guy won't be able to make it out until next Thursday!!! Ah well, just as long as it is fixed before football season.

Yep. Anything that goes wrong with the TV not caused by misuse (spilling water down the back of it for example) is covered.
