Wow! Airbags deploy with alot of force. omg.

was that for real? I've had an airbag go off and hit my face and it didn't seem like the amount of force shown in that video.

That's because it was already fully deployed or nearly so before your face touched it.

This is why little tiny women who sit 2 inches from the wheel get killed by their airbags. It deploys into them rather than in front of them, and crushes their bodies. You need enough space for the bag to deploy.

For normal people, you might get a little burn or an abrasion from the plastic covering, but it's way better than not having one. I'm guessing you're normal!

Makes sense.

Also, why children less than 12 y/o are not supposed to be front seat passengers.

I am normal! It's a great day after all. 😀

Yeh, my sunglasses were set sailing, and I got a bit of what looked like road rash on the side of my face. It did sound like a gun going off, I will say that. My ears were ringing!

My buddy had a few, undeployed airbags, and we set them off in the middle of a field for some fun....all you need is a few feet of wire, and a 9v battery, and off they go.

This is what I fear is going to happen to my mother-in-law. She's like 4'11" or something, and practically hugs the steering wheel in her Civic. I swear she's going to get in a harmless fender bender one of these days but get creamed by her airbag.

That was madness....

The 12 years old rule is kinda odd. Are they basically guaranteeing that once a kid is 12 years old they're going to be tall enough? What about short 12 year olds? I think it should be more of a height requirement. But that would be too hard for some people to figure out probably.
